Mr Colbert, have you ever thought that Ms Rhee is correct to care about kids? You seem to be sold outto your democrat party/teachers unions that you cannot just come out and tell her thank you for trying. The disgusting teachers union in DC spent $1 million dollars to get her out. Yeah, Mr. Colbert, screwthe kids, all you care about is your left wing audience.

"America was #1 in education in the 1950's." Let me explain why that was. France? Rebulding fromrubble. UK? Rubble. Germany? Rubble. Russia? Rubble. Japan? Rubble. Korea? At war, soon to berubble. America was number one only because its school system and national infrastructure hadn'tbeen bombed back to the Stone Age, and because its population remained relatively intact (actually, the US received tons of educated immigrants and intellectuals fleeing war-torn Europe, which onlybenefited our higher education system). Had WWII not destroyed the rest of the world, the good ol'U.S. of A would have been as far back in the rankings as it is today.

Britain rubble?, I was a child during the war and I can assure you that for the vast majorityeducation went on as normal. I can remember having to carry a gas mask all the time in alittle cardboard box and we had air raid drills. After 1942 the Luftwaffe were too busy on theEastern Front to come and bomb us.Some of our major cities got a lot of damage but itdid not bring the country to its knees as you imply. The same can be said for large parts ofFrance and Paris was never bombed. Even Germany suffered extensive damage to Berlinand industrial centres but large areas`were untouched. Your ignorance of WW2 isapparent, which says something about US education
